I What is Burkina Faso ECTN certification?

According to the provisions of Decree No. 00557 issued by Burkina Faso on 11/07/2006, all goods exported to Burkina Faso must apply for ECTN/BESC starting from November 7, 2006. ECTN stands for Electronic Cargo Tracking NOTE, while BESC stands for BORDEREAU DE SUIVI DE CARGAISN in French, meaning Electronic Cargo Tracking Note.

According to the law, each bill of lading requires at least one ECTN/BESC tracking document. If there is no application, it will be considered a violation of transportation regulations for shipping to Burkina Faso, and customs clearance operations cannot be successfully completed locally. And there are strict regulations on the application for reissuance: applications made after the container arrives at the port will incur huge fines and have the opportunity to be rejected, and will be severely punished at the destination port.

II How to apply for Burkina Faso ECTN?

4. The original tracking form must be issued within 10 days of the ship's departure. The confirmed certificate cannot be modified. If modifications are required, they must be approved by the Congolese authorities and a 30% certification fee will be charged as a correction fee.
