I What is Tanzania ECTN certification?

Since September 1, 2013, Tanzania has implemented ECTN certification, and any goods that do not undergo ECTN will face severe penalties at the destination port. ECTN stands for Electronic CARGO Tracing NOTE in English. Also known as BESC, it is the abbreviation for BORDEREAU DE CARGAISN in French. The Chinese meaning is "electronic cargo tracking document".

Tanzania ECTN is a mandatory certification document for exports to Tanzania. Failure to process it may result in the shipping company at the port of origin being unable to issue a bill of lading or the consignee at the destination port being unable to clear customs.

II How to apply for Tanzania ECTN certification?

Tanzania ECTN Certification Application Method:

The documents required for applying for Tanzania ECTN certification are:

1. Tanzania ECTN Certification Application Form;

2. Scanned copy of the original bill of lading or DRAFT copy of the shipping company's bill of lading;

3. Scanned copies of commercial invoices stamped with seals;

4. Customs declaration form (pre recorded form with barcode).

Application process for Tanzania ECTN certification:

Step 1: Fill out the application form, provide the required draft or scanned copy of the bill of lading, scanned copy of the commercial invoice stamped, and electronic version of the customs declaration form;

Step 2: Based on the container type and quantity under your company's bill of lading, our company will prepare a cost invoice and arrange payment for your company;

Step 3: After receiving payment from your company, we will prepare Tanzania ECTN draft for your confirmation;

Step 4: After confirmation, I will produce Tanzania ECTN NO. to your company and submit a valid ECTN certificate.

DAR ES SALAAM in Tanzania requires ECTN processing

The most important port in Tanzania is Dar es Salaam (DAR ES SALAAM), and all goods shipped to Dar es Salaam (DAR ES SALAAM) port in Tanzania are required to apply for Tanzania ECTN.

The most important port in Chad is N'Djamena, and all goods destined for N'Djamena port in Chad are required to apply for Chad ECTN.
