1、 What is Burundi ECTN

According to the Burundian decree of Burundi, from April 1, 2014, all goods exported to Burundi must apply for ECTN at the port of departure, and the officially approved ECTN certificate must be provided for customs clearance at the port of destination, otherwise the port of destination will not be able to clear the customs and pay a fine.

2、 How to apply for Burundi ECTN

Documents required for ECTN application:

1. Complete ECTN application form

2. Scanned copy of export customs declaration (pre recorded customs declaration forms that meet the requirements are also acceptable)

3. The packing list invoice used for customs clearance at the destination port (the invoice needs to reflect the FOB value, freight, insurance premium (if CIF terms), and trade terms)

4. Scanned copy of original bill of lading (if ECTN number needs to be assigned first, a shipping company format bill of lading with accurate SHIPPED ON BOARD date can be provided first)

ECTN processing procedure:

1. Please send the application documents to our company according to the above requirements

2. After receiving your application documents, our company will provide a fee invoice to the applicant to arrange payment

3. After receiving the water bill, our company will reply to the customer's email for confirmation and provide ECTN NO.

4. The applicant shall provide ECTN NO. to the shipping company for issuing the bill of lading

5. Our company will modify the CTN content based on the draft bill of lading provided by the applicant for confirmation. After the applicant confirms that it is correct, we will issue the original within one to two working days and send out the certificate according to the applicant's instructions after receiving the scanned copy of the original bill of lading with the shipping company's signature or electronic release receipt
