CTIA Battery Certification: IEEE 1725 and IEEE 1625
NormalTCI is a CTIA certified testing laboratory that provides comprehensive CTIA accredited battery testing services for IEEE 1725 and IEEE 1625.
NormalTCI provides comprehensive testing for IEEE 1725 and IEEE 1625 at the same location. What does this mean for you? This unprecedented capability enables us to provide you with the fastest, most cost-effective, and comprehensive battery testing solutions in the rapidly expanding wireless and mobile device industry. We help you achieve many global compliance standards faster, including CTIA certification, national certification, CB program, battery on-site assessment, and more.
CTIA certification is aimed at manufacturers who provide batteries, adapters, and equipment to leading telecommunications suppliers in the United States. CTIA IEEE 1725 includes "Requirements for Rechargeable Batteries for Mobile Phones", while CTIA IEEE 1625 includes "Requirements for Rechargeable Batteries for Laptops and Tablets". These requirements simultaneously regulate the content of battery design, production, assembly, leakage protection, overcharging, mechanical performance, and quality control.
We can provide you with the most flexible, economical, and comprehensive security and performance testing services for mobile phone and laptop batteries. We can help you meet customer needs faster than ever before, enabling customers to obtain new certifications as quickly as possible and stay ahead in the rapidly expanding wireless and mobile battery markets.
NormalTCI also provides other CTIA testing and certification services, including 1X EV-DO (HRPD) cdmaOne, CDMA 2000, HAC, and over the air (OTA) performance.

The United States and Canada have released a new safety standard for portable power banks, ANSI/CAN/UL 2743 (2nd edition)
UL 2743, as a new safety standard for portable power banks, ensures minimal product risks and safe use by establishing strict technical requirements.
With the development of lead-acid or lithium battery energy storage technology, portable power packs are increasingly favored by consumers due to their convenience for outdoor use. Typical products not only include portable energy storage, but also integrate functions such as vehicle emergency start, tire inflation pump, and emergency lighting.
Unlike portable power banks that only provide USB DC output, portable power banks offer more options, including:
- Mobile USB output
Laptop computer with 15V or 19V DC output
-12V or 24V car adapter socket
- Standardized AC socket
Wireless charging module
- LED lights
- Emergency power supply for car batteries that stop running after running out of battery power
- Tire inflation pump
The rapid growth of the market has also brought new problems to customers and safety regulatory agencies. Multiple incidents of fires and battery explosions have been discovered in the market, making it increasingly urgent to standardize safety requirements and minimize such risks. After multiple revisions in the United States and Canada, UL 2743 (2nd edition) was officially adopted as a national standard by ANSI and SCC in July 2018.
The new standard UL 2743 (2nd edition) sets strict technical requirements, including:
1) Safety components that comply with ANSI/UL and CAN standards
2) Lithium battery cells comply with UL1642 or UL 62133/CSA C22.2 E62133
3) The AC socket complies with UL 498/CSA C22.2.42 and has a maximum rated value not exceeding 125V/20A, using a bipolar/ungrounded structure
4) The battery circuit should be equipped with redundant overcharge and unbalanced charging protection
5) Necessary insulation design for DC/AC circuits
6) Strict outdoor usage requirements, such as UV protection and rain resistance
7) Strict requirements for emergency power cables, including length requirements and performance at low ambient temperatures.
8) The tire inflation pump and additional charging function should also be evaluated separately according to UL1450 and/or UL1236
9) In Canada, safety warnings should be written in both English and French languages
10) This standard also includes very detailed requirements for security and user instructions
