ICTI certification

Introduction

ICTI stands for International Toy Industry Association. The association was established in 1974 and includes toy trade associations from 20 countries and regions, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. One requirement of ICTI is to ensure that toys are produced in a safe and humane environment. To achieve this goal, the association has developed a set of simple, effective, and user-friendly audit standards, business codes of conduct, and audit agreements for factories. With the successful completion of the ICTI certification audit, the factory will be awarded the ICTI certification certificate to demonstrate compliance with the terms of the aforementioned guidelines.

The primary focus of ICTI is on China, as 80% of the toys produced there are sold to Western countries.

How to obtain ICTI certification?

Currently, only factories in China require ICTI certification. If a factory can prove that it has complied with ICTI's "Code of Business Conduct" after audit, it will be awarded this certificate. The monitoring checklist, guidance documents, and "Code of Business Conduct" for ICTI can be obtained by contacting NormalTCI Nomo Testing.

ICTI advocates toy manufacturers to adhere to three principles:

One is the "three no's" - no child labor, no forced labor, no prison labor;

The second is the "Four Unrestricted" - regardless of gender, race, religion, or social affiliation;

The third is to abide by environmental regulations.

At the same time, it is required that contractors of toy manufacturers under each member association should also comply with these three principles.
